Tony B has been a lifelong resident in Cicero for 35 years, and is an alum of Cicero District 99, District 201 and Morton College. After receiving their Associate’s degree, Tony B would transfer to Northeastern Illinois University to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, a Master of Arts in Political Science, and most recently obtain their Master’s in Public Administration from National Louis University. Tony B has always invested in improving his academic rigor as a scholar, but more importantly thrived to develop a professional identity that was centered on serving the public good.
Through his 12 years of public service in educational institutions like the Chicago Public School system, Northeastern Illinois University and National Louis University, Tony B has centered his work on improving educational outcomes for children, families, and students of all ages. Witnessing and understanding how poverty can influence community members to commit desperate acts of violence, theft and drug abuse, Tony B saw educational opportunities as a vehicle to save lives and improve living conditions. With a passion for direct service, he would find himself in leadership circles, contributing to the administration of these direct services to improve outcomes and train the next generation of service providers.
Tony B works hard to embody the values of love and forgiveness in his professional work, personal life and his political beliefs. He believes and is willing to invest in the individual as a general practitioner of social work, and is committed to the practice of good governance as a public administrator. Tony B is determined to build a permanent home and begin a family with his wife, in a place he considers to be his forever home, Cicero, Illinois. With these commitments in mind, Tony B is running for public office in Cicero, to be a trusted and devoted public servant to all Cicero residents no matter their background, and work to unlock the untapped potential that rests in this great town.
